Be still and rest in the Lord.

Reflect

In a world that keeps record of our wrongdoings, it is hard for us to fathom that our God would not do the same thing. Yet God makes it clear that His desire is to forgive and redeem us as well as forgetting what we have done.

I grew up in the 1980’s and 1990’s in smalltown USA, and my mom knew what I had done wrong before I even walked through the door. Our community made sure that parents knew what their children had done, and they would not let you forget what you had done either.  Now we live in a society that has recording devices at our fingertips, and make sure that wrongdoings are made known to the world never to be forgotten.

I am so thankful that we serve the God who knows what we will do before we even do it and still forgives. I am so thankful that we serve the God who hears our cries from the depths of our soul and responds with mercy! I am so thankful that we serve the God who fully redeems us through the blood of the precious Lamb, Jesus, that eliminates our sin!

When we experience God’s unfailing love, we cannot help to be like the Psalmist and long to know God! “I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. I wait for the LORD more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.” Psalm 130:5-6. Brothers and Sisters let us be like the Psalmist and wait for the LORD with our whole beings as well as placing our hope in His word! And when we become like these watchmen, God will meet us and show us great things!

Pray

“Forgiving God, thank You for all that You are and all that You do! Help us to forgive and not keep records of wrongdoings. Help us, O Lord, to learn to watch for You as well as wait on You!  We love You, Lord! Amen!”

Go with God!
