Reflect

As I read this scripture, the first theme that stuck out to me is compassion. Jesus is compassionate, and the evidence is all throughout the Word! Compassion is love in action!

The people in this scripture had been with Jesus for three days without even eating. Now let us picture this:  They were so mesmerized by Jesus and His teachings that they stayed with Him for three whole days without food.  Let us face it, not many people would do that today.  Somebody would get hangry and cause a scene. But these people wanted Jesus, and Jesus wanted them to have physical food for their journey home.

Jesus has compassion on us that He desires to meet our needs even when we think it is impossible! I love how the disciples are like us and said, “But where in this remote place can anyone get enough bread to feed them?” Mark 8:4. We are just like them at many times on our journey with God.  We would wonder like them, “How in the world are we going to be able to meet this giant need with seven loaves of bread and a few fish?”.  Oh, but how we underestimate our Jesus!

Jesus made the impossible possible!  He gave thanks to our Father and distributed the food and boom, 4,000 were fed and satisfied!  And the disciples had seven baskets of leftovers…WOW GOD!!! We have got to remember this:  Jesus is compassionate, and He desires to take care of us!  The next time God calls you to do the impossible by human standards, remember that He is going to make it possible by His standards!

Pray

“Heavenly Father, we come before you today to give You thanks for always providing for us!  Thank You for being patient with us as well as forgiving us when we have little faith! We love You, Lord! Amen!”

Go with God!
