There’s been a lot of suffering these last two years, hasn’t there? What can we do about it? In Mark 9 we are given the story of a sick child and how Jesus solved the problem. Jesus heard the child’s father beg for help saying “If you are able to do anything, have pity and help us” he answered quickly, “IF you are able! All things can be done for the one who believes.”

If you believe then all things are possible is an amazing statement yet it repeated the lessons taught to the people had heard all their lives of healing and deliverance. The answer from the father of the child having convulsions was “I believe; help my unbelief.”

It was a totally honest statement. We people who call ourselves Christians say we believe in God’s power to heal and save. But even faithful people can wonder what God’s up to sometimes.

Jesus says let Me handle it! Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit in the boy, took the child by the hand and lifted him up. The boy was healed. Jesus’ disciples asked him later why they couldn’t do what Jesus had  done  and Jesus told them that it takes prayer. Prayer is key to unleashing God’s power. Take God at His Word and watch the Lord’s power at work fixing things, giving strength and comfort to those who call out to Him supplying solutions that can be surprising. The Lord’s answers aren’t always what we expect but they are always the right solutions.  Pray. Believe. Watch what God will do.

Pray

Almighty God, we say we trust in You and Your power to heal and save. We thank You for all the ways and times you’ve shown grace and deliverance. Help us Lord to trust you more fully so that we walk in Your ways in all ways at all times. Thank You, Lord for showing us the way and carrying us through these days and all the days to come. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

Go with God!
