Reflect

In a world where negativity seems to lurk at every corner, it is refreshing when something good happens. In these last two years of the pandemic, lives were lost, families separated, and death was always present but even still, there were children being born, churches gathering to worship, and souls being saved.

No matter how bad the outcome looks, God always has a silver lining. This is true in our passage from Micah today. The news just keeps getting worse. The leaders of God’s people are corrupted, the world is dark and dreadful, and sin is all consuming, yet God still promises to bring His people back. He is not leaving them spread out and distant. He will call them back and make their “horn iron” and their “hoofs bronze”, they will “beat in pieces many peoples.”

Remember this today that no matter how bad it gets, God always has a silver lining. You can always rely on know Christ has died for you, He has gone ahead of you to prepare the way, and when the time comes, He will come back for you. (John 14) There is not better silver lining or a more positive outcome than to know Christ is coming for you.

Pray

Father God, we come to you now in praise and wonder of who you are. We are so blessed and thankful for you always calling us back and empowering us as your children. Forgive us of our sins that cause us to walk away. We thank you and we love you Father. Thank you for Christ Jesus and what He has done on the cross for our salvation and it is in His name that we pray, may your will not ours be done. Amen.

I am 28 and the Stated Supply at the Clinton Cumberland Presbyterian Church. I have been the Stated Supply here since February 2020. I am married to my beautiful wife Natalie and together, we are foster parents to a 16-month-old boy named Thomas and dog parents to Bailey and Coco. We have had a number of kids stay in our home and have been blessed more by them than I think they are by us. I enjoy spending time with my family and I have finished the Program of Alternate Studies and should be looking toward full ordination in April of 2023.
