Reflect

When I get up in the morning I am singing “Glory, Glory”.  When I close my eyes at night that song of praise still rings in my ears and guides me gently into blissful rest.  How wonderful it is to sing praises to our Lord!  As the sun breaks the dawn of a new day, the birds, animals, and all of the creation welcome it with a song of praise.

Psalms 146:1-5 gives us a wonderful template to fashion our days, all our days.  The psalmist lets us know that praise and trust in our Lord God is the most wonderful state we can abide in.  When we realize that God is the source of all things good we can rest in the assurance that we are taken care of.

Too often we place our trust in others and seek happiness and completeness at their hands.  Yet, we should come to the realization that God is the only source of our completeness.  In nature, we do not see the birds, trees, or flowers worrying about what lays in store for them, for the creation’s trust remains in God.  God clothes the creation with beauty and cares for it.  We must remember that we also are God’s creation and will be taken care of according to the Lord’s design.

So I challenge you, arise with praise on your lips, praise God throughout the day, and retire with praise for a day that has been made just for you.

Pray

Glorious God, the reasons for us to praise You are all over creation. Tune my heart to sing Your praise. AMen
