Legacy of Ministry Endowment
This Legacy is established in recognition of the faithful and passionate ministries of Samuel McAdoo, Finis Ewing, Samuel King, and Louisa Woosley. These ministers created a legacy of ministry that countless Cumberland Presbyterian ministers have continued down through the years. By participating in this Legacy minister become co-laborers in building up the kingdom of God both now and in the future. Recognition is given to ministers upon their ordination, ordination anniversaries, retirements and in memory. An ordination recognition includes a beautiful pastoral cross pendant.
Description of Recognitions
Legacy of Ordination — recognition is bestowed upon a new ordinand by a presbytery or person with a gift of $100 to the Legacy. With the recognition, a minister will receive a certificate suitable for framing and a pastoral cross with cord. A minister who is already ordained can chose to participate in this Legacy with a $100 donation in recognition of their own ordination and will receive the pastoral cross.
Legacy of Retirement — recognition is bestowed upon a minister at their retirement with a gift of $100 to the Legacy by a presbytery, church or person. With the recognition comes a certificate suitable for framing and a commendation. Please complete the “Retirement Commendation Form” when requesting this recognition.
Legacy of Ordination Anniversary — is an opportunity for ministers and those who support them in their ministry to celebration this annual milestone. Donations are made depending upon the years ordained. The honoree will be notified of any donations made in their honor to the Legacy. All donors will receive a letter of thanks for continuing the Cumberland Presbyterian Legacy of Ministry.
Recognition for Ordination Anniversary, Memorials, and Appreciation – the donation amounts varies and a letter is sent to the pastor notifying them of the gift donation as well as a letter of thanks to the donor.
