Start the new year with a refreshing adventure at Montgomery Bell State Park near Burns, Tennessee, on January 1, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Meet at the Church Hollow Shelter for the annual First Day Hike, led by Ranger Sara Cook. This beginner-friendly, two-mile hike will take you to the picturesque Lake Woodhaven Spillway, with plenty of opportunities to learn about the park’s fascinating flora and fauna along the way.
The First Day Hike is free to attend, with optional donation packages available for those who wish to support the park: $10 or $20 donation options are available for attendees, or you can contribute $10 or $20 even if you’re unable to join the hike. All attendees must register.
