Melissa Hopkins, a member of Faith Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Cornerstone Presbytery) and a teacher at Bartlett High School, has been named World Language Teacher of the Year at the 2026 University of Memphis Language Fair held at the university.
The award recognizes Hopkins for excellence in world-language instruction and her work preparing students for regional language competitions. The University of Memphis Language Fair brings together students and teachers from schools across the Mid-South to compete in events designed to promote language study and cultural understanding.
The annual fair, hosted by the University of Memphis Department of World Languages and Literatures, features competitions in a variety of areas including speech, vocabulary, cultural presentations and academic research.
