Although named for Knoxville, McGhee-Tyson Airport is actually located in Alcoa, Tennessee, at 2001 Alcoa Highway. If you’re arriving from the west, there’s no need to go into Knoxville.
Due to ongoing renovations at both the Hilton hotel and the airport, the main breezeway entrance to the Hilton is currently closed. There are two alternate ways to access the hotel:
-
Conference Center Entrance:
This is the most convenient option if you’re parking at the hotel. Several luggage carts were available as of today. From this entrance, take the elevator or stairs from the “CC” (Conference Center) level up to the “L” (Lobby) level. -
Lobby Entrance via Airport Loop:
The hotel’s main lobby entrance is located beyond the airport departure area. After passing the Conference Center entrance, continue along the one-way loop through the construction zone. It may look incorrect—many drivers think they’re going the wrong way—but keep going. After a stop sign, you’ll need to turn left onto an upper-level ramp. Do not stay on the lower road. Once you pass the terminal, the Hilton lobby entrance will be directly ahead.
