Emerson Farmers Market in Emerson, Arkansas, will open their annual season Thursday, May 16, 2024, with produce, crafts, baked goods, home canned goods, and much more. The farmers market takes place on the grounds of the former Emerson Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Arkansas Presbytery) at Church and Elm Streets (302 North Elm (Hwy 79)) in Emerson, Arkansas. The church closed in 2008, but the sign is still up. The church is unassuming, a white frame building, not unlike scores of other Cumberland Presbyterian churches. It is, perhaps, a bit bedraggled, again not unlike plenty of active Cumberland Presbyterian churches. There is no indication, visible from the road at least, this is not an operational church. Distinctive signs along Elm Street make the farmers market hard to miss. It operates from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. each Thursday from opening in May through the end of October.
