Dorothy Willetta Condron Blakeburn, 96, of Greeneville, Tennessee, died September 18, 2025. A third-generation Cumberland Presbyterian, Willetta was deeply woven into the life of the church. Her husband, the Rev. Dr. Roy Ellsworth Blakeburn, her brother, Dudley Condron, and her son, the Rev. Larry Blakeburn, all served as Cumberland Presbyterian ministers. Another son, Mark Blakeburn, worked for the Cumberland Presbyterian Resource Center. Willetta was a faithful member of Greeneville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where her husband served in many roles across 35 years and was later named pastor emeritus.
Born June 18, 1929, in Wagoner, Oklahoma, to William Cecil and Ada Nevada Condron, Willetta grew up in a strong Cumberland Presbyterian family. She married Roy on August 16, 1947, beginning a lifelong partnership in ministry.
An accomplished student, Willetta was elected to the national honor society of Phi Kappa Phi at East Tennessee State University. She maintained an active interest in the life of the denomination, frequently corresponding with Cumberland Presbyterian magazine editors C. Ray Dobbins and Richard Magrill, with several of her letters appearing in print. When longtime magazine assistant editor Margie Perkins retired at the end of July 1985, Willetta stepped in to help in the magazine office and took on the task of handling the Denominational Center’s switchboard each morning.
