The Life and Times of Finis Ewing by Franceway Ranna Cossitt. Out of print since the mid-1850s, Life and Times is the only biography of Finis Ewing written by someone who actually new him. It should be required reading for anyone who seeks to understand how the Cumberland Presbyterian Church became a separate denomination from the larger Presbyterian Church USA.
