A major earthquake of 7.1 magnitude struck central Mexico on 19 September 2017, killing many people and trapping more in buildings that had collapsed or caught fire. The Mexico Council of Cumberland Presbyterian Churches is purchasing supplies to provide water and food to people on the streets of Mexico City. Our churches there will be distributing the water/food and assisting those living on the streets and those helping with rescue efforts. The MMT is currently sending funds to Mexico to help the Mexico Council with this project.
The Missions Ministry Team is working with the Cumberland Presbyterian Council of Churches in Mexico and our missionaries, based in Mexico City, to determine how we can help those who have suffered from the devastating earthquake.
