First Presbyterian Church in Mayfield, Kentucky, suffered a great deal of damage in the December 11, 2021, tornadoes. The church was organized as a Cumberland Presbyterian Church around 1832 in Anderson Presbytery. John Anderson, a founder of Mayfield, was a member. The congregation was in Obion Presbytery from 1833 until 1882 and then in Mayfield Presbytery from 1882 until 1906 when the pastor and most of the members became part of the Presbyterian Church USA during the partial merger of denominations. A remnant congregation struggled along in Mayfield until 1909 before disbanding. In 1906, the congregation had around 300 members.
