Relax and clear your head. Listen for the voice of God. What is God saying to you today?
Hebrews 2:5-9 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
God did not choose angels to be the rulers over the new world that was coming. That future world is the world we have been talking about. It is written some place in the Scriptures,
“Why are people so important to you?
Why do you even think about them?
Why do you care about the son of man?
Is he so important?
For a short time you made him lower than the angels.
You crowned him with glory and honor.
You put everything under his control.”
If God put everything under his control, then there was nothing left that he did not rule. But we don’t yet see him ruling over everything. For a short time Jesus was made lower than the angels, but now we see him wearing a crown of glory and honor because he suffered and died. Because of God’s grace, Jesus died for everyone.
There is so much trouble in the world. There is so much stuff going on – some of it we cannot see. We do see the destruction of a hurricane on the coast, the dearth in D.C., and death from a pandemic – all over the world. The media ensures that will not be a problem.
But while that is true, here is something always true: God chose me. Well, He chose you, too.
No matter what happens in life, God chose you. And no matter how much of the bad stuff you pay attention to, my prayer is that you will see – right in the midst of it – the glimmer of a Presence, walking toward you. I hope you will see that it is Jesus, Who doesn’t have to dodge bullets or get blown away in the gale-force winds of this time in life. I hope that you will find hope in the Presence of Jesus, the Son of God, Who endured what you are enduring. Jesus is real. Jesus is Present. Jesus is ready for you to follow Him on through your life, along your path chosen by Him a long time ago. All you have to do is look for Him. Ask about Him. Seek Him. And knock on His door. He will always answer, and He will always let you in. You will always find shelter against all that is going on outside your door.
God, thank You for being a Friend. Thank You for being a tour guide. Thank You for being a Protector. Thank You for being a light source that will never fade out. Amen.
Go with God!
