Let yourself become open to God and the knowledge that comes from the Word. Ask God for a peace at this time.
Psalm 124 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
A Song of Ascents. Of David.
If it had not been the Lord who was on our side
—let Israel now say—
if it had not been the Lord who was on our side,
when our enemies attacked us,
then they would have swallowed us up alive,
when their anger was kindled against us;
then the flood would have swept us away,
the torrent would have gone over us;
then over us would have gone
the raging waters.
Blessed be the Lord,
who has not given us
as prey to their teeth.
We have escaped like a bird
from the snare of the fowlers;
the snare is broken,
and we have escaped.
Our help is in the name of the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
Because we belong to Almighty God, we will have attacks. Around the world we see the attacks on God’s people. From churches being set on fire, our Jewish brothers and sisters under attack to our brothers and sisters all around the world being tortured and dying for their faith in Jesus Christ, yes I do believe that we are under attack! But the very same God that delivered Israel in King David’s days, is the very same God that will deliver us from evil!
I take great comfort in knowing that God has my back! I know that no matter what may come my way, I have a very loving God who delivers me from evil! And the same goes for you who are in Christ Jesus!
God’s deliverance comes in many forms. Sometimes God’s deliverance is in the form of removing us completely from the situation and taking us home, but in other cases, like the Israelites in Psalm 124, God delivers us from our enemies here on earth! In whatever way God chooses to deliver us, it is good, because God is good and God’s ways are perfect! Our help is in the name of the Lord!
“Amazing God, we come to you today first and foremost, thanking You for delivering us from evil! In many times, we don’t understand why things happen the way they do, but we know that You are God and You are good! In the midst of these trials, tribulations and tragedies, we know that You are always there working good out of the bad! Help us, O Lord, to find our help in You and not things of this world! Help us turn our eyes on You! We love You, Lord! In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Go with God!
