Cumberland Presbyterian Resources is a ministry of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church directed by the Discipleship Ministry Team of the Ministry Council. We are the successor organization to the Cumberland Bookstore and Cumberland Presbyterian Resource Center.
The original Cumberland Bookstore was established in Memphis in 1951. Prior to that, however, the “book room” operated in the offices of the Cumberland Presbyterian Publishing House in Nashville. As early as the 1840s, the Publishing House made retail book sales available to Cumberland Presbyterians.
Cumberland Presbyterian Resources has been tasked by the General Assembly with providing books, other publications, and supplies by, for, and about Cumberland Presbyterians to a broad Cumberland Presbyterian audience. We also distribute materials which would be difficult for Cumberland Presbyterians to otherwise obtain. We work with Cumberland Presbyterian authors to get their work in print and then endeavor to make Cumberland Presbyterian scholarship available to the broader Christian community.
